Former Chelsea striker, Tony Cascarino, has told Manchester United keeper, David de Gea, that lower-league goalkeepers are far better than him.
This is coming after Man United’s elimination from the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
De Gea’s future at Man United is under serious threat.
His performance in the UEFA Europa League elimination at the hands of Sevilla on Thursday night in Spain was enough to leave many wondering if the Spaniard was still good enough at the highest level.
“Goalkeepers have been changed at a lot of the clubs that are doing really well. I have got stick for saying this in the past, but if Tottenham want to play in a different way, they have got to have a much better footballing goalkeeper than Hugo Lloris,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“I think that is where Manchester United are with David de Gea. You have got to be able to play with your feet. I watch lower-league football, and I have seen goalkeepers who are way superior to De Gea with their feet.
“I watched Dean Henderson a lot at Sheffield United and he was fabulous.”
