Former Manchester City player, Samir Nasri, has lambasted Paris Saint-Germain for their recent decision to suspend forward Lionel Messi for two weeks.
PSG recently suspended Messi for his reported unauthorized Saudi Arabia trip.
This came a day after PSG’s 3-1 Ligue 1 home defeat against Lorient.
Messi, however, has since apologized for his action and also returned to training after five days.
But Nasri has now slammed PSG for suspending Messi, labelling it as a ‘stupid idea’.
Speaking to Canal+, Nasri said (via GOAL France): “Paris’s sanction against Messi was a stupid idea. But what message do you send when you suspend him for two weeks, and after five days, you reinstate him? Now, either he ends his beautiful story with Barça, or he will take a lot of money in Saudi Arabia.
“It’s 400 million euros a year anyway.”
