Football pundit, Dean Jones has said that it is over for Harry Maguire at Manchester United, insisting there is no chance the England international would remain at Old Trafford next season.
The England defender was signed from Leicester City in a deal worth £80 million in 2019 and Jones believes from all indications he is not part of manager Erik Ten Hag’s plans.
The Englishman has played 174 games for the Red Devils and was appointed as the club captain by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but he has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
He has only been able to start seven matches in the Premier League this season and Jones believes there was no chance of the defender remaining at Old Trafford.
He told GiveMeSport, “It’s very unlikely that [Maguire] can stay, especially given that Victor Lindelof has had a bit of a turnaround in form and pushed himself up the pecking order.
“So, I think that Maguire’s time is up, but we don’t know that for sure yet because the conversations haven’t happened and it’s only once this season is up that that will be formalised.”
