Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested a notorious suspected gang leader who has been terrorizing parts of the Katsina metropolis.

Spokesperson of the command, CSP Gambo Isah, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, May 19, 2023, said the 23-year-old suspect, Umar Abubakar, attacked police officers detailed to arrest him with a dangerous knife.

“On 17/5/2023, at about 2215hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting one Umar Abubakar alias Sabon-Sarki, ‘m’, aged 23 years old, of Rahamawa quarters, Katsina, a notorious suspected gang leader of social miscreants (Kauraye), terrorizing Sabuwar Unguwa, Rahamawa, andJanbango areas of the Katsina metropolis,” the statement read.

“A sharp, dangerous knife which the suspect used to attack officers’ detailed to arrest him while trying to evade arrest was recovered. Investigation is ongoing.”
