The Sons and Daughters of Okeigbo, Ondo State came together from far and wide to celebrate the life and legacy of their late monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Oluwole Babajide, Bamigbala I, the Oluoke and Paramount Ruler of Okeigbo Kingdom.
The 4-day celebration which happened from Thursday, July 20th to Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 was a festival of joy in remembrance of the 17th ruler and 6th Oluoke of Okeigbo Kingdom. As part of the festivities, the late monarch was eulogized with a Free Health Care service for the community, a Jumat Service, a Church Service, and two reception parties to receive and celebrate with guests from across the country and abroad.
The New Regent of Okeigbo, Princess Olusola Babajide, and Kabiyesi’s other sons and daughters hosted guests that included the Olubosin of Ifetedo, Oba Akinola Akinrera, Latiiri I, the Salu of Edun-Abon, Oba Oladepo Olatunji Kehinde, the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon.Wale Akinterinwa amongst other.
Present to entertain the teeming guest was the King of Juju music himself King Sunny Ade. Also present was afrobeat legend 9ice and gospel soul singer Tope Alabi.
Kabiyesi will be dearly missed by all sons and daughters of Okeigbo home and abroad.
