A medical doctor identified as Dr. Vwaere Diaso has died after being involved in an elevator accident at the General hospital in Odan, Lagos state on Tuesday, August 1.
According to her colleagues and friends, Vwaere who completed her medical degree at Babcock University, was on her way to pick up her meal from a dispatch ride when the incident happened. She was coming from the 10th floor when the elevator which had reportedly been faulty for sometime, crashed to the ground floor.
She was later rushed to the emergency ward where she passed away.
Her friends and colleagues allege that the elevator had been faulty for sometime but the hospital management allegedly failed to repair it until it claimed her life yesterday, August 1.
‘’Particularly aggrieved because we’ve complained for a long time about this elevator. We’ve maneuvered, managed and prayed each time we had to use it. Empty promises will be made to fix it….till it killed one of us” one of her colleagues wrote on Twitter
