Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has lauded forward, Kai Havertz’s ‘superb’ performance in his side’s FA Community Shield win over Manchester City on Sunday.
Arteta watched as Arsenal defeated Man City in the Community Shield via penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Cole Palmer and Leandro Trossard both scored for their respective clubs during normal time.
“He was superb,” Arteta said at his post-match interview when asked about Havertz’s performance against Pep Guardiola’s side.
“The way he pressed and how intelligent he is to try and understand certain spaces and the timing of it, he was great and got in great positions to score.
“He was unlucky not to score but he was very physical when he needed to be, so I was very pleased with him.”
