Former Chelsea centre-back, William Gallas has criticized the club’s summer signing Axel Disasi.
Gallas insisted that Disasi is not ready to play at the top level for Chelsea, adding that the 25-year-old will not suit a club like the Blues.
Disasi arrived at Stamford Bridge last week after completing a £38.5 million move from Monaco.
“I have seen him play for Monaco and for me, I don’t know why Chelsea signed another defender. I think they have too many – it looks like they have too many, so why sign another one?” Gallas told Gambling Zone.
“Disasi is a very physical player. He is very strong. In the Premier League you need to have more about you than just being a physical player – being strong is not enough, especially when you play for a big club like Chelsea.
”You need to have more quality and, I don’t think he is a player that will suit Chelsea.
“I don’t think it was a good idea to sign him because I don’t think he is ready to play at the top level yet.”
