Following the inauguration of a caucus within Osun state, All Progressives Congress (APC) by former minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola, the national secretary of the party, Ajibola Basiru has cautioned members of the party against joining.

Speaking with the newsmen on the phone, Ajibola Basiru, noted that such a group is a contraption to the constitution of APC.

He said,

“The APC constitution does not recognize caucus as an organ or structure of the party. There is freedom of association under the Nigerian constitution so anyone is entitled to form an association but as far as APC is concerned, we do not recognize the kind of contraption the former minister is putting together. At best is a political club of his fancy and has no basis in the structure and organization of the APC.

“Genuine APC members should be wary of the antics of those people whom we cannot identify as still members of our party.”
