Two brothers are being held at the Tudun Wada Police Station in Gusau town, Zamfara State, for allegedly killing a Voice of Nigeria reporter, Hamisu Danjigba.
The suspects – Bilal Haruna and Mansur Haruna – are the sons of late Danjigba’s elder brother, Malam Haruna.
They were living in late Danjigba’s house in Samaru area, Gusau, before the murder.
Danjigba, who was declared missing on Saturday, Sept. 16, had complained multiple times about the unruly behaviour of the two suspects, who are his nephews.
After he went missing, a text message was sent to his family. In the text, the sender demanded N1m as part payment before the final ransom would be announced on Friday.
Sadly, his dead body was found on Wednesday, Sept. 20, dumped in a soakaway behind his house (read here). Multiple cuts were seen on his body when he was dug out.
His nephews have been arrested in relation to his murder, while investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Danjigba worked in many media houses such as, Ayau Newspapers, Kunnen Gari, Voice of Nigeria and Vision FM Nigeria.
He is survived by a wife, children and grandchildren.
