Alex Iwobi has claimed he is no longer bothered by criticism from fans on social media.
Iwobi had his fair share of abuse from fans during his early days at Everton.
The versatile midfielder arrived in a big-money move from Arsenal but struggled to justify his huge price tag.
The 27-year-old later became a popular figure among the Toffees fans and won Player of the Season in the 2022–2023 campaign.
The Nigeria international dumped the Merseysiders for Fulham this summer.
Iwobi stated that he is a strong character now and does not think too much about the negativity from fans.
“When you’re coming onto the scene and doing well, you see fans on social media and in the comments, and you want to see people hyping you up,” Iwobi said in an interview with Forbes.
“I’ve also had the hate—that you’re not good enough. When I moved to Everton, there was a high fee (around €40 million or $42 million). Everyone said he costs so much and hasn’t done much. His value is way too high. I’ve seen it all. I’ve seen both sides. Now, I’m at an age where I don’t look at it anymore.”
