The Premier League have decided not to suspend Simon Hooper, despite his late decision not to play advantage for Manchester City against Tottenham.
Hooper stopped play despite Jack Grealish running through on goal.
He then awarded a free-kick for a foul on Erling Haaland, who had gotten up to play the pass to Grealish.
City have now been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players, with Haaland particularly furious at the final whistle.
Hooper has been assigned to Liverpool’s game at Sheffield United on Wednesday.
The Premier League view his mistake as a human error, and he will not be demoted. He has been previously, as he failed to award a penalty for Wolves against Manchester United earlier this season.
