Lobi Stars have expressed displeasure with the U-17 team’s failure to progress to the NPFL youth league playoffs.
The Vice Chairman of the club, Dominic Iorfa expressed his displeasure while welcoming the team in Makurdi.
Iorfa described the situation as hard luck and unfortunate, saying that despite performing very well at the competition their set target was not realized.
He, however, encouraged the delegation not to lose hope but reflect on the incident that would help them gain a better experience to improve better in subsequent competitions.
He hinted that a lot of NPFL age grade tournaments like U-15, 16 and 17 were lined up for execution and urged the management of the youth team to be focused on the task ahead.
“The team played very well and won two games which I was impressed with,” he stated in his welcome address to the team.
“They needed a point to sail through to the next round; unfortunately, they lost the game and lost the first position which stopped their progress and I am disappointed”.
