Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has claimed that Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, showed some signs of fear during their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, semifinal clash on Wednesday.
The coach said he saw Peseiro gesturing and asking his team to go back in the latter stages of the game.
Nigeria beat Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties to advance to the final of the tournament on Wednesday and will now play the host, Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Broos pointed out that he noticed that Peseiro was very nervous on the sidelines during the game as he kept telling the Super Eagles stars to be on the defensive.
“I saw the coach of Nigeria gesturing with his hands for his players to go back because they were afraid. They couldn’t get back the ball,” he said at his post-match press conference.
A win for Nigeria against Ivory Coast in Sunday’s final will see them claim their fourth AFCON title.
