Kelechi Iheanacho is in contention to make his first appearance for Leicester City since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations against Leeds United on Friday (today).

Iheanacho was away for around a month following his involvement with the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2023 finals.

The 27-year-old retuned to the club last week but was not named in the matchday squad for the home defeat to Middleborough.

Manager Enzo Maresca commented on the forward’s availability for the trip to the Elland Road.

“Kele (Iheanacho) just arrived from international duty and has worked with us for some days. He is in the squad but we will make the right decision for the next game.”

The clash at the Elland Road will be the meeting of the Sky Bet Championship’s top two.

Leicester City currently enjoy a nine-point advantage at the summit.
