Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Granit Xhaka, has reacted to their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Ademola Lookman scored a stunning hat-trick, as the Serie A side won only the second trophy in the club’s history.
The win also ended Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten run from last year.
But Xhaka, speaking to RTL, said: “Honestly, we’re not interested in the unbeaten record. We didn’t care about that from the start.
“It’s about the game and unfortunately we lost a final today. That’s football.
“We said yesterday that it would be a difficult game. Compliments to Atalanta.”
Xhaka also lost the 2019 Europa League final with Arsenal.
