Manchester United’s new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has hailed the team’s efforts in clinching the FA Cup this season.
The Red Devils pulled off a 2-1 win over rivals Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday.
Alejandro Garnacho pounced on a defensive error to open the scoring, before Kobbie Mainoo finished off a fine team move.
Although Jeremy Doku scored late in the game, it was merely a consolation goal.
“It is a glorious feeling to win the FA Cup final at Wembley,” Ratcliffe said.
“Manchester United clearly were not the favourites to win today but they played with total commitment and skill and overcame one of the great teams in football.
“We are all very proud of the players and the staff who work tirelessly to support them.”
