Suspected armed robber falls into well and d!es after his gang raided students’ hostel

A suspected armed robber, identified by his nickname, Bob Jay, fell into an open well and d!ed, Friday night, July 12, after he and other gang members allegedly raided a student hostel in the University of Cross River State, Unicross, Okuku campus.

The robbers allegedly attacked students in their hostel at about midnight and carted away laptops, phones and money.

While trying to escape with their loot after the robbery, one of the suspects fell into an open well and drowned.

It wasn’t until dawn, when students went to fetch water, that they saw the man inside, de@d.

They raised alarm and locals retrieved him from the well.

Students allegedly identified him as one of the robbers and locals who knew him said his name was Bob Jay from Mbube, a neigbouring village.

The police were alerted and they took the body away.
