Davita, the partner of popular rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has responded to comments surrounding a video of her son referring to area boys as “bad boys.”
In a recent social media post, she emphasized the importance of safety and the measures she has taken to protect her son in an insecure environment.
Davita addressed the criticism by explaining her stance on teaching her son to be wary of strangers. She shared her experience of moving permanently to Lagos, highlighting the need to instill a sense of caution in her son due to his friendly nature.
“My son is the most compassionate and caring boy ever to the point that when we finally moved to Lagos, I had to make him scared of people because he will follow anyone and everyone. That’s the reason why he’s scared now because I had to put that fear in him to protect him until he’s old enough to know for himself who is good and who is bad, “Even me as an adult if I’m driving alone and those boys crowd my car in traffic and start looking through the window I am scared. What exactly is the teachable moment there? SMH” Davita explained.
Davita urged critics to understand the context of her actions, emphasizing that in a country with high insecurity, safety must come first.
