Football expert Mark Warburton has heaped praise on Liverpool boss Arne Slot following their 2-0 win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday.
He hailed the Dutchman for his big tactical change at halftime that saw Liverpool record a comfortable win.
Liverpool got off to a winning start to the 2024–25 Premier League season as Slot became the first Liverpool manager in this century to win his first game in charge.
It was anything but a convincing first half from the Merseyside giants, as Kieran McKenna’s side gave them a hard time.
However, the Reds came back as a completely different team in the second half.
The manager raised eyebrows by starting Jarrell Quansah alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence ahead of Ibrahima Konate.
However, he introduced Konate at halftime, replacing Quansah and turned the game around.
Warburton said on BBC: “I didn’t see any sign of injury at all with Jarell Quansah. Liam Delap was giving him a bit of a tough time at the end of the first half so Arne Slot has made a bit of a tactical change there. And fair play to him.”
Liverpool’s goals came from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.
