Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has identified one major problem with the current team under head coach, Enzo Maresca.
According to Lampard, there will be ‘inconsistency’ in the Chelsea team because Maresca’s men are made up of mostly young players.
The former England midfielder spoke after Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.
Before the Crystal Palace game, Chelsea had defeated Wolves 6-0 in the Premier League last month and also lost 2-1 against Servette in the Europa Conference League.
“Inconsistency will be there – young players bring that,” Lampard said on Match of the Day 2.
“If you look at moments in the game where Chelsea are on top, maybe they aren’t clinical enough and then you can always feel the game can swing on them.
“You do wonder if that bit of experience through the spine of the team is not there and you will have to wait for that but there is certainly a lot of talent in there.”
