West Bromwich Albion manager, Carlos Corberán has praised Josh Maja for his hard work and perseverance.
Maja barely featured for the Baggies in the Sky Bet Championship last season due to injury.
The Nigerian has however fought back to become a key player for Albion in the current campaign.
The 24-year-old was on target in West Brom’s 3-1 win at Portsmouth on Sunday.
It was Maja’s fifth goal of the campaign.
Only Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has scored more goals than him in the top four divisions in England.
“We know he is an important player for us. We couldn’t enjoy Josh too much last year because he had two injuries in the same place,” Corberan said after the win over Portsmouth.
“He worked very hard when the rest of the team was resting to arrive into the season at the level he is right now.
“Normally in life things are not coincidences, they are consequences of things. His mentality, his commitment and hard work are now giving him the consequences.”
