Ademola Lookman underlined his credentials as the favourite for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year by putting up a superb display in Atalanta’s 6-1 rout of Verona in a Serie A game on Saturday night.
Lookman, who is among the 10 nominees for the prestigious award registered two goals and two assists in the encounter.
The winger set up Marten de Roon for the opening goal after six minutes.
The 27-year-old teed Charles De Ketelaere for La Dea’s third goal in the 14th minute.
Lookman scored Gian Piero Gasperini’s side’s fourth and fifth goal in the 29th and 34th minutes respectively.
He was replaced by Lazar Samardzic four minutes before the hour mark.
