Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Ven. David Arinze Ajaefobi, an Archdeacon of Oyi Central Archdeaconry and Vicar of St James’ Parish in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

It was gathered that Ajaefobi was abducted at the gate of the church around 9:30pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

His abductors have reportedly not established any contact as of the time of filing this report

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga said the command had not received the report on the incident.

However a senior police officer confirmed the incident to journalists on Sunday.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Rev. Ajaefobi was inducted as the vicar of St. James Parish on April 10, 2022.
