A Miami police officer has been relieved from his duty after he was caught punching a Black woman at Miami International Airport.

Antonio Rodriguez, an officer for the Miami-Dade Police Department was filmed on another officer’s bodycam punching the woman at the airport on Wednesday evening, July 1.

The video, obtained by the Miami Herald, shows the black woman in a terminal facing two officers and taunting one of them.

“You acting like you white when you really Black…what you want to do?” the woman says.

As she steps up to the officer, putting her face right in his, the provoked cop punched her in the face. “She headbutted me,” he says as his colleagues including the one whose the bodycam was recording the incident rush in to handcuff her.

Minutes after the video surfaced on Twitter,  Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez III tweeted that he was “shocked and angered” and said he had “immediately initiated an investigation.”

He also said he had “ordered that the involved officers be relieved of duty.”
