Bandits have kidnapped 13 persons in two separate attacks in Funtua and Dandume Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

According to a conflict and crisis journalist, Bakatsine, the gunmen stormed Unguwar Dahiru in Funtua LGA on Monday night, December 9, 2024, injured two people and abducted ten others, including both men and women.

The attack comes barely hours after another group of bandits blocked a road near Jarumai in Dandume LGA, kidnapping two travellers and stealing their motorcycles.

A resident of Unguwar Dahiru, Bala Ishiaku, who confirmed the incident said that the families of the victims have not yet been contacted for ransom.

Meanwhile, bandits have reportedly kidnapped a 400 level student of School of Health, Makarfi, Kaduna State, identified as Baraka Abdulkarim.

It was gathered that she was abducted on her way back home to Funtua from school last week.
