Chelsea legend Petr Cech has backed his compatriot Antonin Kinsky to shine at Tottenham Hotspur.
The young goalkeeper recently joined the north London side on a permanent transfer from Slavia Prague.

Kinsky signed for Spurs for an initial sum of £12.5 million over the weekend.

The 21-year-old will likely start for the Premier League side ahead of the other goalkeepers, Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin, in the coming weeks.

During a recent chat with The Playbook House, Cech, who is currently an ice hockey player and widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, shared his honest thoughts on the 21-year-old goalkeeper.

“I wouldn’t worry about him being at a disadvantage because of his younger age. When we look at the Premier League, it’s not uncommon to come across players who are maybe 17 years old. When they [players] have something to give to the team, they just play. So, I think with Antonin, it will be all about his performance,” he said.

Cech, in his heyday, helped Chelsea win 15 trophies from 2004 to 2015 and currently plays as a goalkeeper for Oxford City Stars.

“I am very happy that he got the opportunity. Tottenham are a traditional club that regularly fights for the UEFA Champions League,” he added.

“I believe that he will do well and that the club will suit him. The role in the team should suit him because the head coach wants the goalkeepers to play with their feet, which is his great asset.”
