Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has admitted his team did not do enough to turn their Champions League quarter-final deficit against Arsenal.

Los Blancos came into the second leg on Wednesday trailing 3-0 to Mikel Arteta’s men.

Bukayo Saka extended the Gunners’ advantage in the second half, before Vinicius Junior equalized almost immediately.

But Gabriel Martinelli sped away in the 93rd minute to win the game for Arsenal at the Bernabeu.

Although there was talk of a ‘remontada’ in Spain, Ancelotti has now conceded it was their turn to experience sadness.

“The team tried. We weren’t able to change things around. Arsenal deserve it.

“There are two sides to football: the happy side that we experienced for several years, now it’s our turn to experience the sad side.

“We’ve come a fantastic way over the years. Let’s see what happens next year,” Ancelotti said.
