A Nigerian care worker, Bilikesu Olagunju, has appeared in court after she was caught on camera abusing a pensioner at his home in the United Kingdom.

Olagunju, 42, of Congress Road in Abbey Wood, pleaded guilty to ill-treating or willfully neglecting an individual whilst acting as a care worker.

CCTV at the pensioner’s home caught her grabbing the pensioner and dragging him around.

Olagunju appeared at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, May 7, for sentencing.

However, because she turned up at court without a barrister the sentencing hearing was delayed

Judge Charlotte Welsh told Olagunju: “You have no representation. It’s entirely your choice but I think it’s really important you get a solicitor – they’ll help you apply for legal aid and you won’t have to pay.

“I know you’re very worried and I don’t want to frighten you but this is a very serious offence and you should have someone representing you.”

Olagunju was released on bail until she is sentenced at the same court in June.
