Transfer: Arsenal confirm deal for Mosquera as Chelsea secure Derry’s signing

Arsenal have announced the signing of Spain Under-21 defender Cristhian Mosquera.

The Gunners disclosed this in a statement via their website on Thursday, adding that Mosquera had signed a long-term contract.

Mosquera, 21, joined the Emirates Stadium outfit from Valencia, where he made 90 appearances in all competitions.

He will wear the No. 3 jersey at Arsenal and link up with manager Mikel Arteta’s squad during their ongoing pre-season tour of Asia.

“Everyone at Arsenal welcomes Cristhian to the club,” Arsenal’s statement read.

Meanwhile, in another development, Chelsea have secured a deal to sign Crystal Palace wonderkid Jesse Derry.

The Premier League West London club beat several European sides to the signature of the 18-year-old, as reported by The Sun UK.

Derry was recently close to joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich amid interest from other Champions League clubs.

However, the England Under-19 international has now secured a deal to join Chelsea this summer.
