Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has definitely won the Mummy of the Year award from her daughter, Similoluwa.
Newsunplug reported last week that the Yoruba actress’s daughter had turned 17. To celebrate her new age, her famous mother threw a lavish birthday party on Sunday, September 7th, at the Oriëntal Hotel, Lagos. The likes of Biola Bayo, Ayo Olaiya were in attendance.
One of the event’s highlights was when Similoluwa gave her speech at her party. The 17-year-old who graduated earlier this year broke down in tears as she spoke about her mother.
She praised her mother for being the best and noted how Laide went the extra mile despite the economy to make her happy and give her her heart’s desire. She also praised her mother for being strong and appreciated her for her grand gesture.
“She is like the best person I have ever met. I have seen her do so much because of me. The money she even spent on me. I just came home and told her I wanted to have a big party, and she said she would do it, and the fact that she did it for me is actually so crãzy. From the photoshoot, she had 3 to 5 outfits for me, and they were so expensive, and the economy is getting worse and worse. Even though I am not affectionate, I want to tell her, ” Thank you, Mummy. There is no other mother like her. She is the strongest person I have seen in my entire life. I just want to say thank you”.
On Simi’s birthday, Laide had appreciated her daughter for being a good girl. She noted how her daughter is a better version of herself as she appreciated her for always supporting and learning from her without doubt.
A few weeks back, Laide had shared an adorable video of her daughter speaking her dialect, Yoruba, in a tush voice with veterans Ayo Mogaji and Femi Branch, on a movie set. The proud mother praised her daughter for nailing it with them.
