Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, sent a message to injured Super Eagles attacker Victor Osimhen before the game South Africa on Tuesday.

Victor Osimhen was not part of the team that played out a 1-1 draw with South Africa in the African series of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa at the Toyota Stadium.

The Group C leaders took the lead with captain William Troost-Ekong’s own goal, before Calvin Bassey leveled matters with a close-range header late in the first half.

Shortly before the game, the coach was asked by Super Sports how he was focusing on the game without his main man, Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen returned to Turkey after he sustained an injury during game against Rwanda on Saturday.

“No, just I want to say something. I don’t want to answer to your question, but I want to say something,” he told Super Sports.

“Victor, good evening. I’m just with my players right now and we are focusing together to looking for something,” he said.
