A Nigerian Uber driver who lost his sight after being attacked by armed robbers in 2020 has shared how he overcame depression and found strength in his new reality.

The young man revealed that he was sh@t in the face while driving, which left him blind at just 27 years old. The incident pushed him into depression, but he said he refused to remain there.

According to him, one of the biggest steps was accepting his new identity and facing life as a blind person rather than seeing it as the end of his story.

In his words:

“I became blind at the age of 27 and overcame depression in less than a month. One of the ways I fought depression was to accept my new identity, accept the challenge of being a blind person. What are you going through right now? Accept it and let it bring out the best in you.”
