Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, the husband of Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, is reflecting on her musical career as a gospel singer.
Taking to his Instagram page, he shared a screenshot of the news that his wife has surpassed 200 million streams across all credits on Spotify. He noted how, in 2012, when she won Nigerian Idol, she had every chance to go secular as she had the fame right there, but she chose obedience over compromise, and the decision cost her 4 years of waiting.
He said it might look like a delay to many, but it wasn’t wasted, as now, people can see the reward of that obedience. Pastor Blessed stated that his wife’s journey proves God’s will always prevails.
He noted how choosing God may look like a delay, but it will never be a waste. He encouraged the public to stay focused, courageous, and keep streaming his wife’s new album.

Truly, “those who honor Me, I will honor” (1 Samuel 2:30). And we can boldly say, “overwhelming victory is ours through Christ” (Romans 8:37).

A week back, while celebrating his wife’s birthday, Pastor Blessed said he watched her rise above lies, noise, and agendas, yet she carried it all with a smile. The clergyman added that his wife’s life proves that one with God is a majority.
Mercy Chinwo and Pastor Blessed tied the knot in a star-studded wedding on August 12th and 13th, 2022, at Mercy’s hometown in Port Harcourt. Celebrities like Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Waje, Chigurl, Joe Praiz, and others.
In August, the couple had celebrated their third wedding anniversary. Mercy stated that it had been three years of love, grace, countless memories, and God’s purpose guiding them. The award-winning singer said God’s hand is in every chapter of their lives and cheered on to many more years.
