Former Premier League stars, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, have predicted the team to win the UEFA Champions League title this season.

Recall that Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League title last season after beating Inter Milan in the final.

However, this season’s Champions League will commence today and there are matches Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Providing their predictions, both Carragher and Richards backed Barcelona to win the Champions League this season.

“My favourite for the Champions League is Barcelona. I was really impressed with their performances last season. I think they will go far again,” Carragher was quoted by Mundo Deportivo as saying.

He added , “I think Liverpool will also make it to the final. It will be a fantastic final: Barcelona-Liverpool.”

On his part, Richards also echoed Carragher’s comments, saying: “I’m also choosing Barcelona.”
