Spanish racing driver, Carlos Sainz has insisted that Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal should be given the Ballon d’Or this year.
According to Sainz, the Spain international is absolutely excellent, and he is the best player at the moment.
Organizers of the Ballon d’Or will announce the winner on Monday in Paris.
Yamal, alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Barcelona’s Raphinha, and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, are among the top contenders for the individual prize.
Speaking to the media, Sainz said (via ESPN): “Ballon d’Or? I am a Real Madrid fan, but I would give the award to Lamine Yamal.
“He is a Barca player, but he is also a national team player.
“He is absolutely excellent and should be given the award because he is the best right now.”
