Santos forward Neymar has hit out at the organizers of the Ballon d’Or over Barcelona winger Raphinha’s fifth-place finish in the 2025 edition.

The 33-year-old made his feelings clear about the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, calling Raphinha’s fifth-place finish ‘a huge joke’.

Recall that Ousmane Dembele won the 2025 Ballon d’Or ahead of Lamine Yamal on Monday night.

Raphinha, however, finished in fifth position, behind the likes of Dembele, Yamal, Vitinha and Mohamed Salah.

However, Neymar was unimpressed with Raphinha’s final position in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star took to social media on Monday night to express his frustration, saying his fellow Brazilian compatriot’s position is ‘a huge joke’.

“Raphinha in 5th is too much of a joke,” Neymar said on Instagram.

Raphinha had an impressive campaign for Barcelona last season as he helped them win the LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey.

The former Leeds United star was arguably Barcelona’s best player last season, recording 56 goal contributions in 57 appearances for the Blaugrana.
