Some Chelsea supporters have urged the club’s board to terminate Enzo Maresca’s contract following a series of disappointing results over the past few weeks.
After the team’s disappointing defeat against Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, September 27, 2025, the board entered the dressing room. Maresca clarified that the board has an office within the dressing room, which was their reason for visiting after the game.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Chelsea board is not considering letting Enzo Maresca leave the club, despite the recent poor form. He stated:
“Enzo Maresca remains the manager, and there are no issues or thoughts about an immediate change. Barring any surprises over the next eight months, Maresca is viewed as the ideal manager to lead the project, and any review will take place at the end of the season.”
Maresca joined Chelsea from Leicester City at the start of the 2024/25 season which ended on a high after they were crowned winners of the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Chelsea has gone without a win in their last three Premier League games ( Brentford, Manchester United and Brighton) and will look to improve when they face Benfica and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in their next two matches.
