Notable singer Mr Real has expressed regret over his decision to feature Idowest on his hit track Legbegbe, claiming the move limited the song’s potential and his career growth.
Speaking in a recent interview, the artist revealed that he wished he had released the record as a solo project.
According to him, doing so could have elevated him to the same status as some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, including Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Mr Real speaks on Wizkid’s interest in ‘Legbegbe’
Mr Real further disclosed that Wizkid once reached out for a remix of Legbegbe, but the plan fell through due to industry complications allegedly involving D’banj.
He described the missed opportunity as a major setback, noting that the collaboration could have solidified the song’s impact both locally and internationally.
Released in 2017, Legbegbe was a street anthem that gained massive popularity across Nigeria, propelling Mr Real into the limelight.
However, the singer believes that certain choices made during its rollout prevented him from fully capitalizing on the song’s success.
He partly said …
“I regret bringing Idowest into that song. I regret am. I wish say na only me sing that song. If say na only me sing that song na me and their Burna Boy and Wizkid for dey.
