A woman has gone on X to condemn the “gender affirming care” she received when she identified as transgender.
She explained that from the age of 18 to 25, she bound her breast in an effort to pass off as male.
8 years ago, she had surgery to remove her breasts.
However, she now regrets her actions.
She wrote on X: “I can never get back what I have lost from going down the path of medicalisation.
“Gender affirming care didn’t save my life. It ruined it.”
Her tweet has revived conversations about allowing children who identify as transgender to get gender affirming surgery and care, only for them to regret it years later.
