Ghana stand on the verge of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, following a 5-0 thrashing of Central African Republic, CAR, on Wednesday evening.

The Black Stars opened the scoring through Mohammed Salisu in the 20th minute, after he headed in Mohammed Kudus’ corner kick.

Former Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, doubled their advantage after the break.

Minutes later, Alexander Djiku headed in Ghana’s third, before goals from Jordan Ayew and Kamaldeen Sulemana sealed the big win.

The result keeps Otto Addo’s men top of Group I, three points clear of Madagascar, with a far superior goal difference and only one match remaining.

A draw in their final game will be enough to book their place at the 2026 World Cup.
