Ahead of the World Cup qualifying game between Nigeria and Benin Republic in Uyo on Tuesday, Gernot Rohr has warned that it is only a football match and not a war.

Benin Republic will easily book their place in USA, Canada and Mexico with a draw against their neighbours in Uyo on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on the other hand, must win the game with at least a 2-goal margin to stand any chance of travelling to North America next summer.

The other game will be played between South Africa and Rwanda.

Addressing the press ahead of the game, Rohr, who coached the Super Eagles before taking up the Benin job, noted that whatever happens, it would all end in friendship.

“It’s not a war, it’s a football game. Whatever will be the result, we will leave here and we will stay friends,” he said.

“Now the moment for us is to be ready, to be relaxed and to have a good game tomorrow.”

The Super Eagles are third in the Group C with 14 points, with South Africa in second place with 15 points, while the Cheetahs are leading the group with 17 points in their basket going into Tuesday’s matches.
