An old Facebook post mentioning the late evangelist Uma Ukpai has resurfaced online as Nigerians continue to mourn his death and share touching tributes.
Recall that the passing of Dr. Uma Ukpai was officially announced through a statement on his verified Facebook page on October 13, 2025.
The resurfaced post, originally shared by Charles Awuze on November 24, 2024, reflected a heartfelt concern for several influential Christian leaders. In the post, Awuze named Dr. Uma Ukpai, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Papa Ayo Oritsejafor as spiritual generals he felt a strong burden to pray for.
He encouraged people close to them to express appreciation and gratitude for their lifelong impact on the Christian faith.
“Pray for T.D. Jakes. Pray for Dr. Uma Ukpai. Pray for Papa Ayo Oritsejafor.
I feel a deep burden for these generals. They have served. If you are around them, give them gifts and let them know how much they have impacted you.
I hope this post won’t be misunderstood,” the post read.
Until his passing, Dr. Uma Ukpai was a highly respected Nigerian Christian leader, international evangelist, and preacher. He founded the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), a non-denominational ministry headquartered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Since the news of his death broke, condolence messages and tributes have continued to flood social media from netizens and notable figures across Nigeria.
The circumstances surrounding his death, however, have not yet been disclosed.
