Udinese Group Technical Director, Nani, has confirmed the return of Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to the Bianconeri squad.

The goalkeeper is back with the team after completing his two-month suspension for betting-related offences.

Nani told Messaggero Veneto that the 26-year-old’s return will strengthen the team after his enforced absence.

“We welcome Maduka back,” Nani said, as quoted by Tuttoudinese.

Okoye joined Udinese in the summer of 2023 and became the first-choice goalkeeper before his suspension.

Before his move to Udinese, Okoye played for Watford in England.

Nani, however, noted that only the manager can decide whether Okoye returns to his position or not.

“The choices are up to the coach, who has maximum freedom,” he added.

Up next for Udinese is a Serie A fixture against Cremonese on Monday, October 20.
