Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has refuted reports that he donated N20 million to the Golden Heart Foundation, run by Nollywood actress Sarah Martins.
In a statement shared on his Instagram Story on Friday, Seyi clarified that while some of his friends had raised funds to assist a woman recently penalised for breaching Lagos environmental regulations, he was not personally involved in the contribution.
He emphasised that although the donors acted with goodwill, he does not condone any action that violates Lagos State laws.
“Their aim, I understand, was to help her establish a proper space for her business, not to bypass the law. I value their generosity and concern.
“That being said, I want to make it clear that, despite their good intentions, I do not support any act that contravenes the regulations of Lagos State.
“Order is essential for Lagos to flourish, and Nigeria’s progress relies on our collective adherence to law and order. Compassion and patriotism should always go hand in hand,” Seyi stated.
This statement follows Sarah Martins’ claim that she received ₦20 million from Seyi Tinubu to support her charitable work. Martins had previously said she was confronted by Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps officials while preparing meals for charity on a street median in Lekki, Lagos.
