A man identified as Myom was caught stealing yams from farms in Tse Dugwer village in Benue State.
According to reports, Myom was first spotted on Sunday night uprooting yams from a farm estimated to be about 40 heaps.
The farm owner quickly alerted the village vigilante group, but the suspect managed to flee before his arrest.

Some of the stolen yams were reportedly recovered from a buyer.
