Erling Haaland has maintained his blistering form this season, producing goal-scoring numbers that rival Cristiano Ronaldo at his peak.
The Manchester City striker has now matched Ronaldo’s career-best record of scoring in 12 consecutive games for club and country. His latest goal came in City’s Champions League win over Villarreal, where he converted Rico Lewis’s low cross to open the scoring taking his tally to 24 goals in the 2025/26 campaign. Bernardo Silva later sealed the victory with a second goal before halftime.
Haaland’s strike marked his ninth straight scoring appearance for Manchester City, leaving him just one game shy of matching his personal record for consecutive club goals, which he set under Pep Guardiola between August and October 2022.
At just 25 years old, Haaland has been a force of nature. After netting in City’s opening Premier League fixture, a 4–0 win over Wolves and failing to score in a defeat to Tottenham, he embarked on a relentless run, bagging 22 goals across his next 12 matches.
His scoring streak began against Brighton and included six goals for Norway during September’s international fixtures for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. He also broke Wayne Rooney’s Manchester derby record with a brace against Manchester United and continued his rampage by scoring against Arsenal, underlining his status as one of the most lethal forwards in world football.
