Nigerian rapper Temidayo Omoniyi, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has opened up about his struggles as an upcoming artist while studying at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
The Zanku crooner revealed that despite winning the Airtel One Mic Talent show in 2014, he was still struggling financially.
“Back in school, when there was no money for food, I would just wait till night and use the car I won from the Airtel One Mic Talent show to run cab from Abeokuta to Shagamu for ₦350,” Zlatan recalled in an interview with streamer Shank Comics.
Zlatan won the competition at 19 but said his real breakthrough came in 2017 after featuring Olamide on his hit song “My Body.”
He has since described the collaboration as the turning point of his career, crediting Olamide for giving him a “life-changing” verse.
