Nigerian food influencer Opeyemi Famakin has sparked online chatter once again with his latest review of a popular restaurant in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a recently shared video, Famakin detailed his visit to Item 7, a well-known fast food spot that many locals had recommended. However, instead of a memorable dining experience, the critic admitted he left feeling “confused.”
He remarked in the clip:
“I was told to try Ibadan’s Item 7. I did, and honestly this is the first time I’ve found a bone inside my Shawarma!”
Famakin, who recently got married in secret, noted that while the Shawarma was flavorful, meaty, and well-seasoned, discovering a bone in it significantly affected his enjoyment.
“It’s actually good meaty, rich but that bone ruined it. If they took it out, it would have been perfect,” he added.
Known for his candid and often humorous reviews, Famakin didn’t hold back on rating other menu items either. He gave the fried rice a low score of 3.5 out of 10, calling it bland and underwhelming:
“The fried rice… no. I don’t think I’ll ever have that again.”
He was slightly more generous with the Jollof rice, rating it 5.5 out of 10 and describing it as “basic but acceptable.”
Overall, Famakin rated his experience at Item 7, Ibadan, 5.2 out of 10.
