Nigerian media mogul Betty Irabor has gushed over the marriage of Rita Dominic and Fidelis Anosike.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, she revealed that watching Rita hop excitedly on her husband like a child at her post-50th birthday barbecue in the UK was pure joy. She said Rita’s face lit up with childlike wonder and clung to her husband, not wanting to let go.

Betty described love as a beautiful thing, especially for those who take the time to discover and intentionally nurture it. She stated that love must be tended like a delicate rose or it withers.

She noted that those who wait, despite sneers and age-shaming, often end up appreciating love in its richest form. She questioned why anyone must marry in haste and repent at leisure. The wife of Soni Irabor said that after 42 years, she has learned that love and marriage require that you keep choosing each other, even on hard days.

Betty added that watching Rita and Fidelis reminded her that it’s never too late to find a love that feels like home.

“WHEN RITA DOMINIC LET HER INNER CHILD LOSE TO WELCOME FIDELIS!

Watching my dear @ritadominic hop excitedly on Fidelis — like a child whose dad just returned from a long trip — at her post-50th birthday barbecue in the UK was pure joy!

“You all knew, you all knew!” she squealed at the conspirators — @glazedlens @blessingegbe1
and her own siblings — her face lit up with childlike wonder.
“You all knew Fidelis was going to surprise me, ba?”
She clung to him, not wanting to let go!

We @osayi_ebohonofficial @abbiiholoyede and myself
arrived at the barbecue around 5 p.m., we were told that Fidelis couldn’t make it; that he wasn’t even in the country.

Rita, glowing with grace — radiant skin, dazzling smile — played the perfect hostess.

Then, around 9 p.m., a sudden commotion… and there he was — FIDELIS! Her husband!!
He had flown in.

Ah, love! Such a beautiful thing — especially for those who take their time to find it and intentionally choose to nurture it.

Love must be tended like a delicate rose, or it withers.
It gives returns when we make consistent deposits of time, truth, and trust.

Those who wait — despite sneers and age-shaming remarks like “Go and marry,” “You don dey old o,” or “Menopause is coming” — often end up appreciating love in its richest form.
Why marry in haste and repent at leisure?

After 42 years, I’ve learned that love & marriage require that you keep choosing each other — even on hard days.

When love comes later in life, it requires even more nurturing.

One of my friends once told me;
“You suddenly find yourself sharing your space. You lose your independence and keep reminding yourself that you’re now married, but I like the feel of being married. I’m glad I get to experience it in my lifetime.”

Watching Rita and Fidelis reminded me again that it’s never too late to find a love that feels like home.

The kind that makes your soul whisper,

“Honey… I am home.”

Because truly, home should always be a safe place”.
